YouTube's Live Hair Transplant Attracts Record-Breaking 70,000 Viewers

Over 70,000 consumers tuned in to the first ever YouTube Live hair transplant on Friday, November 18th, as I performed a second NeoGraft Follicular-Unit Extraction (FUE) on weblebrity Kevin “Nalts” Nalty. The live hair transplant surgery was broadcasted live on YouTube’s new, interactive webcast platform, YouTube Live, and simulcasted on Spencer Kobren’s The Bald Truth radio show, GFQ web radio network, Ustream, JustinTV, Switcher radio and iTunes radio.

The live hair transplant webcast created a new medical experience by allowing viewers to become active participants in the surgical process like never before, including a live Q&A with myself and Nalty during the actual procedure. Viewers were also able to follow and connect through social media channels Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn during the broadcast.

Since the live hair transplant event received overwhelmingly positive feedback, we are already looking into future opportunities to combine new technology and social media platforms for patient-education outreach campaigns. We’ve had an unbelievable response to the event and will go even bigger next time, which will include HD syndication on LiveStream.

For those who missed the historic YouTube Live broadcast, the archived video is available here: http://www.thebaldtruth.com.
